DTU Health Science Students Hold a Festival of Appreciation

On November 20th, to mark the 22nd annual celebration and 34th anniversary of Vietnamese Teacher’s Day, the DTU Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacology will hold a festival of appreciation entitled “Nguoi Lai Do Mang Blouse Trang”.

DTU first offered a Bachelor’s Degree program in General Nursing in 2009. After that, the university added two more programs in Health sciences, Pharmacology and Doctor of Medicine. The university has established a team of highly-educated, experienced and dedicated lecturers to improve the standard of teaching and research. Specialist, physicians, Associate Professors, PhDs and Masters have already chosen DTU as the place to train qualified doctors, pharmacists and nurses.

DTU has also built the most advanced study and research facilities, including the Physics, Chemistry and Biology Laboratory, the Physiology, Disease and Immunization Laboratory and the Nursing Techniques Practice Room. In addition, research projects are being conducted by the DTU Center for Molecular Biology, the DTU Institute for Medical, Biological and Pharmaceutical Training and Research and the DTU Center for Research and Application of Ethnomedicinal Plants in the Central and Highland Regions of Vietnam (CECV). These projects epitomize the close relationship between theory and practice, teaching and research at DTU.

 
Welcoming new students 

Provided with the most advanced educational and research environment, DTU Health Science students and lecturers have won several awards. With their project “A Solution for Eco-friendly Shrimp Farming with Zero Water Replacement,” Nguyen Cong Duc, a Pharmacology student, and his team won the 2016 National Go-Green-In-The-City Championship and were runners-up in the East Asia Go-Green-In-The City Contest. Mrs. Truong Thi Mai, Chief Nurse of the Department of Oncology at the Danang Hospital, presented her graduation thesis, entitled “Inserting Port-A-Cath”, at the 17th National Conference on Cancer Control. With projects that increase the effectiveness of diagnosis and treatment, DTU Health Science lecturers won prizes at the 17th and 18th Vietnam Medical and Pharmacological Sciences Conferences, with a first, a second and three third prizes.

Enthusiastic DTU Health Sciences students regularly participate in extra-curricular activities, such as the annual football tournament, the Green Summer campaigns, Blood Donation Day and the “Fly and Shine” festival.
