It cannot be denied that communication is indispensable in human’s life. To some people, communication happens when a group of people uses words or speech to exchange information. That’s a common definition. Language can express their own feelings, desires, attitudes or describe not only our experience of reality of the world around us but also the inner world of our thoughts. Language is the most effective means of communication and it serves as an essential instrument in human social interaction
English is considered as an international language. English is used widely in international conferences, workshops, forums….by many domains such as: politics, economy, culture, society, sports…Moreover, in Vietnam, needs to learn a foreign language like English is more and more important than ever.
English is one of the subjects that always brings strange and new interesting things to language learners and English Grammar is the most important things as studying English. We really only understand other speakers when we share not only words and grammar but also which words and which grammatical choices that are appropriate for a situation.
In linguistics, communication is defined as the process where Speaker presents a certain Message to Addressee. Since the Speaker here can be Human or Non-human, communication is either Verbal or Non-verbal. In his/her turn, the Addressee gets the information from the Speaker and can make a reply or not. Therefore, the interaction between the Addressee and Speaker is either unidirectional or bidirectional. There can be various forms in the process: the agent showing an idea, giving instruction, providing a message of a fact or participants exchanging information, etc. As a matter of fact, the transmission of information is still a frequent failure for language learners. Therefore, studies on projection English-Vietnamese to find out similarities and differences between two languages are acquired, to overcome negative transfers.
From the experience of teaching, we have found that Vietnamese learners, especially, high-school students have met some difficulties in learning and translating Models of verbal verb +x in processes of saying. In English, Verbal verbs +x such as: speak hopefully, talk nonsense, say half smiling, speak wildly, talk in one’s sleep, say persuasively, tell the truth, say bitterly…In Vietnamese: Nói ra chiều hy vọng, nói tào lao, nói ngập ngừng, nói như điên như dại, nói mê sảng, nói ngon nói ngọt, nói thật, nói chua chát…and learners of English have trouble choosing the suitable words and meaning to transfer their ideas in their communication. They fail to use them correctly and exactly.
