Program Educational Objectives


The Network Technology program requires a minimum number of 130 credit hours and an actual number of 133 credit hours (without P/F Physical Exercise courses), which can be completed in 8 semesters or 4 academic years. The model layout of the Network Technology curriculum as shown in Table 1 presented the recommended schedule from the first semester of the first year till the second semester of the fourth year. It should be noted that summer sessions are only optional, and would not be included in this model layout. The curriculum breaks the courses down into three categories of (1) General Education (GE) courses, (2) Core Requirement courses, and (3) Concentration courses. Courses in the second and third categories will be calculated into the Major GPA.

Within a few years of their graduation, graduates from the Network Technology program of FIT at DTU are expected to:

 

PEO 1. Be effective in utilizing mathematics, Information Technology, and Network Technology knowledge to solve computer network problems around the world.

 

PEO 2. Be actively aware of career ethics and responsibility.

 

PEO 3. Be proficient in designing, implementing and evaluating a network system to ensure high availability and security through either individual or team work.

 

PEO 4. Be able to expand knowledge and skills related to contemporary issues of Information Technology and computer network areas.
